With less than a month to go before the 58th Annual Grammy Awards, several performances were finally announced January 20th. Ten-time Grammy winner Adele will perform at the Grammys for the first time since 2012, as will Kendrick Lamar – the artist with the highest number of nominations this year at 11. In addition, Little Big Town (up for two awards) and The Weeknd (up for seven) will perform as well. Adele was not technically eligible this year for any awards because her blockbuster album 25 was released on September 30th, 2015, after the nomination cut-off point.
Lady Gaga has been hard at work on her upcoming album, and several other talents are involved, including Sir Elton John, he said in a recent interview. So what can we expect? Sir Elton says: “I’ve heard two songs, which are killer. They’re just great songs. It’s like back to the early stuff of hers — like ‘You and I’ and the Bruce Springsteenone (as I always call it), ‘Bad Romance’.”
California Gurl Katy Perry is coyly refraining from a 100% confirmation, but recent social media activity confirm what any have guessed for a long time: the pop star will in fact appear in Zoolander 2. In a Facebook and Instagram video post, she posts a clip in which she runs into Ben Stiller’s Derek Zoolander who asks her to stop singing “Relax” (which was used to hypnotize him into killing the Prime Minister of Malaysia in Zoolander).
There has been a lot of buzz about the timing of the release of the new Rihanna album ANTI, with some speculating that it would drop Friday, January 22nd. Riri’s assistant Jennifer Rosales posted a dream-crushing studio shot on Wednesday, January 20th, saying that the work continued. The singer is currently in Paris laying down vocals for the record.
Amy Schumer is being accused of lifting jokes from other comedians. A video has been making the rounds online citing examples of jokes that Amy allegedly stole from other people. Amy responded to the accusations on Twitter last night, writing, “On my life, I have never and would never steal a joke.”
Gwyneth Paltrow and her beau, Brad Falchuk, spent the long holiday weekend in Punta Mita, Mexico. According to Page Six, they spent $40,000 to rent a six-bedroom seaside home which includes two infinity pools, a home theater, and chef who cooks farm-to-table meals. Gwyneth’s children were also present. The villa can also be rented on Airbnb.
Jennifer Aniston has no plans to change up her wardrobe as she gets older. The 46-year-old chatted with People magazine about her love for rocking a two-piece bathing suit and her plans to keep wearing them no matter how old she is. Jennifer explained, “If I can be the first 80-year-old to go out there successfully in a bikini, then I’ll take that on.” She added, “I don’t think anybody needs to rein in anything because of an age. That is absolute BS. To each his own! Everybody needs to stay in his own backyard.”
Two of the Two and a Half Men will be reuniting for NBC’s upcoming tribute to James Burrows. Charlie Sheenhas signed on to appear with Jon Cryer in the special that will celebrate the 1,000th episode of TV directed by Burrows. Must See TV: A Tribute to James Burrows will air on February 21st.
Katie Holmes has no plans to get back into the dating game despite rumours that she has been secretly dating Jamie Foxx. The actress appears in the February issue of More magazine where she dismisses talk of her dating life saying, “That’s not something I want to answer…I don’t have a five or 10-year plan. I feel like I’m still a teenager in a lot of ways. I do a lot of things I did then. I paint, I color. I cook sometimes. I still feel like a girl. I don’t quite feel like a woman, maybe because I’m the baby of my family. I’ll probably be 90 and feel like, ‘Not a woman yet!’ Ha!”
