A source tells People that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth “don’t have a date,” adding, “They are moving surprisingly slowly. Miley seems to have matured a lot. In the past, she tended to rush things. She acts much more calm and happy now.”
Mariah Carey might be shouting her engagement to James Packer from the rooftops but her kids still aren’t aware of the situation. She explained to E! News, “I haven’t talked to them about it completely because they are so young, so they don’t really understand things yet. Rihanna’s ANTI has debuted on the Billboard charts. The album has debuted at number 27 on theBillboard 200. Meanwhile, the RIAA has certified the album platinum after hitting one million downloads. There have been 484,000 paid downloads on TIDAL, in addition to being streamed nearly 14 million times on the service. The LP has had one million giveaways on Samsung. ANTI’s low first week sales can be attributed to the fact that it was only available for a portion of the chart week. It’s expected to sell around 125,000-130,000 units in its first full week of availability. ANTI is due out via physical release on February 5th.
Donald Trump won’t be rolling in the deep any more. According to Gossip Cop, his campaign has been contacted by reps for Adele demanding that they stop using her music. Trump has been playing parts of “Rolling in the Deep” and “Skyfall” to get his supporters excited during events including the lyrics “We could have had it all…” and “When it crumbles, we will stand tall, face it all together.” The lines are supposed to support his “Make America Great Again” campaign slogan.
Nick Jonas may keep his lips tightly shut over questions about his relationship with Kate Hudson but he does admit that they have “an incredible connection.” He explains in the new issue of Complex magazine, “Kate’s incredible. We had an unbelievable connection as two humans who just admire things about each other, and see something in each other that’s beautiful. Out of my best effort to respect her and her privacy, I’m not going to say if we had sex or not. But we did have a beautiful connection. Even now I have so much admiration and respect. She’s amazing.” Nick goes on to address being asked questions about his dating life saying, “It doesn’t shock me or surprise me. I don’t get pissed off about it. I’ve come to accept it. The premiere of the limited series revival of The X-Files was a ratings smash. According to Fox, over 50 million viewers tuned in for the first three days of the series. The show premiered in the U.S. and 80 countries across the globe. The premiere was viewed by 20.3 million viewers in the U.S. alone — surpassing the most-watched fifth season of the original series which averaged 19.8 million.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has been renewed for a landmark 18th season as part of a new deal that producer Dick Wolfhas struck with NBC. Dick will continue developing projects for the network through 2020. He said in a statement, “I’ve been in the same office, with the same phone number, for 30 years. I’m glad people won’t have to learn a new one. Staying was really a foregone conclusion. My partnership with Bob has been the best relationship I’ve ever had with the head of a network. He has also assembled a great team of executives at both the network and the studio who make it possible for the Wolf Entertainment team to turn out multiple shows. It is truly a synergistic group effort that makes me enormously excited about both the present and the future.”
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced the second wave of presenters for the Oscars.Steve Carell, Priyanka Chopra, Quincy Jones, Byung-hun Lee, Jared Leto, Julianne Moore, Olivia Munn, Margot Robbie, Jason Segel, Andy Serkis, J.K. Simmons, Kerry Washington, and Reese Witherspoon will also be taking the stage on the big night. The awards will be given out on February 28th.
