Rumour has it that the real reason that Rihanna pulled out of her Grammy performance was because of Kendrick Lamar. As previously reported, Rihanna’s rep revealed that the superstar had bronchitis and could not perform. Meanwhile, an inside source told Page Six that the singer pulled out at the last minute out of fear of giving a bad performance. The source added that she rehearsed twice but backed out after seeing Kendrick’s performance.
Mariah Carey doesn’t want a large wedding, but it will most certainly be glamorous. During an interview with Access Hollywood, Mariah said that she and fiance James Packer are looking to keep their ceremony “very private.” She went on to say, “I’m most excited about the grandeur, darling. It’s not gonna be a big wedding. But it’s going to be grand.”
The 2016 Brit Awards took place on Wednesday and included performances from Coldplay, Justin Bieber, Rihanna featuring Drake, Adele and Lorde. Adele took home three nods, while Bieber and One Direction — who was represented by Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson, took home awards as well.
Diddy has announced a new clothing line inspired by his daughters. The Sean John Girls collection is slated to arrive in Macy’s department stores and online later this month, and will feature shirts, shorts, dresses and jackets, ranging from $35 to $100. Diddy said in a statement, “I am beyond thrilled to work with my girls on this new endeavor and I look forward in watching them grow with this project. They are young dreamers and will serve as an inspiration to girls everywhere.”
Chrissy Teigen stands by her decision to have a daughter through in vitro fertilization. She explains in the new issue of People magazine, “I’ve made this decision. Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.’ I think I was most excited and allured by the fact that John would be the best father to a little girl. That excited me. It excited me to see…just the thought of seeing him with a little girl. I think he deserves a little girl. I think he deserves that bond. A boy will come along. We’ll get there too, so it’s not like we really have to pick. But he definitely is very lucky to have a little girl. And this girl is going to be so completely lucky to have John as her papa — it’s crazy!” Chrissy goes on to speak about the connection between a father and daughter saying, “How soft they get, how mushy, and excited they get. It’s so cute.”
Khloe Kardashian is being called out on Instagram for posting a photo that people believe has been photoshopped. The picture was uploaded to show off Khloe’s hard work at the gym but a curved line in the doorway in the background has caused many users to take issue. Khloe responded to the backlash by sharing the original version and writing, “If only hatin burned calories how dope y’all would be. Too bad it doesn’t. Here’s the OG shot. Gwyneth Paltrow has unveiled the plans she has to build an arts club on the L.A. property currently occupied by Larry Flynt’s Hustler sex shop. She and business partner Gary Landesberg are teaming up for the nine story complex which will include a gallery, screening rooms, several restaurants, and a rooftop pool with a terrace. The club is inspired by a location in London which charges members $2,000 a year and TMZ is reporting that Gwyneth wants her place to be even more exclusive and pricier.
Kate Hudson swears that meditating daily has changed her life completely. She told reporters during a promotional event for her book Pretty Happy, “You know this is the first time I’d say a year in a half of my life that I actually meditated every day. I made it a real clear decision to do that and to see the benefits. The results are amazing. And anybody who’s ever really started a mindfulness practice recognizes when it starts to become a part of your routine and practice that it’s really amazing.” Kate went on to admit that there are certain times when her brain is just firing on too many cylinders to meditate so she works out with a friend instead.
Jennifer Lawrence may not make as much as some of her male co-stars but she is making bank compared to her fellow Oscar nominees this year. Forbes has revealed that she is the highest paid nominee in this year’s group after bringing in $52 million pretax between June 2014 and June 2015. None of the other women in the Best Actress or Supporting Actress race even earned over $6 million which was the cutoff to make the Highest-Paid Actress list.
Michael B. Jordan has signed on to star in MGM’s planned remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. This will be the third version of the 1968 original film which starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. There is no writer or director attached to the project yet.
ER alum Anthony Edwards has signed on to co-star in CBS’ upcoming Nancy Drew series being called Drew. He will be playing Nancy’s father who is a lawyer. The series will follow Nancy as an NYPD detective in her 30s.
Ryan Reynolds wants a pay raise now that Deadpool is officially a hit. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan was paid two million dollars up front for the first movie with eligibility for bonuses and backend. His agents are reportedly preparing to renegotiate his deal for the second movie and any otherDeadpool appearances to come in the future. It is unclear how much they are fighting for.
