AL – Looks like Kingston could become the latest Ontario city to get red light cameras. Devices that take pictures of the licence plates of vehicles that move into an intersection after the light has turned red and then mail a fine to the offender.
It seems like an ok idea to me. I watch people run red lights almost everyday and saying it’s dangerous is an understatement. So the idea is to put these red light cameras in ten of the busiest intersections in town but so far it isn’t happening. It came up in council last night and the group was divided on the idea. Council has decided to delay the decision two weeks to give Kingston Police a chance to make a presentation before a vote is made.
