Baby showers have changed over the years and recently, there has been a surge in “dadchelor” parties. What is a “dadchelor” party? Great question! And I’ll get to that.
In the past, baby showers have typically excluded the father-to-be, while the mom-to-be and her friends play games, open gifts, eat food, and celebrate the arrival of the new baby.
Co-ed baby showers and men only showers are POPULAR now, in fact Pinterest reported that they saw a 149 per cent jump in the number of pins for men-only baby showers in 2015. Coed baby shower celebration pins also increased by 255 per cent.
If you are wondering what a “dadchelor” party is, it’s a shower for men, and men only. Soon-to-be dads are joining in on the fun of baby showers and hosting their own parties with their guy friends. They have different names, “Beer and Diaper Parties,” etc…
I think it’s a great idea. In fact, I am totally in favour of the whole co-ed party idea. What are your thoughts?
