Reports previously surfaced that Jennifer Lopez’s new record “Ain’t Your Mama” was co-produced by Dr. Luke and now Meghan Trainor is coming to her defense. According to BreatheHeavy.com, Meghan who wrote the song, said that Jennifer had no idea that Luke was behind the record. Trainor told OfficialCharts.com, “[It was] not fair on her, not at all. I texted her the song and she had no idea – she thought I did it alone by myself at my house, which a lot of people think because I do do that.”
Jessica Simpson has starred in two new ads for Budget Rental Car. According to Gossip Cop, the new ad campaign features Simpson promoting the company’s special limited-time discount offers.
TMZ is reporting that Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna are looking into offers to put their upcoming nuptials on TV. There is reportedly one offer that would be an episodic show documenting their road down the aisle and could earn them around $150k-$200k per episode and then $500k each for the finale. Where would it air? Good question, it is unclear whether this would air on E! through the family’s deal with the network because Kris Jenner is supposedly not thrilled about the engagement to begin with.
Scarlett Johansson’s marriage to Ryan Reynolds may have been short-lived because of career competition. I almost forgot that they were married. She appears in the May issue of Cosmopolitan, where she doesn’t name names but she did say, “The logistics of being with another actor are challenging. There has to be a real understanding of how you share your time, especially when two people’s careers are going at the same rate. Or even if one person is more successful than the other, that also proves challenging. There may be a competitive thing.”
Gwyneth Paltrow believes that she and Chris Martin were just meant to be friends.She explains in the new issue of Australian Marie Claire, “I think we are better as friends than we were married. We are very close and supportive of one another.” Gwyneth adds, “It hasn’t always been easy for us because you have good days and bad days as you do in life with anything, but I feel lucky because Chris has been willing to push himself for the sake of the kids and help me co-create this new family. It’s like we are still a family, but not a couple.”
Dating a celebrity isn’t all it’s cracked up to be according to Hailey Baldwin. She explains in the May issue of Marie Claire, “I don’t want attention out of dating somebody. Texts started coming through, crazy phone calls…it’s hard to date somebody in this industry. You have to have really thick skin and be very strong. You have to focus on the person and nothing else.” Despite the rumours about her and Justin, Hailey revealed back in March that she is “totally single.”
Fast 8 is bringing Scott Eastwood into the fold. He has signed a deal to play a new character being introduced to the franchise. The eighth installment will be directed by F. Gary Gray and hits theaters next year.
Netflix is keeping DeGrassi: Next Class going. The company announced that the second season will premiere on July 22nd. The series is a continuation of DeGrassi: Next Generation which ran on TeenNick for 14 seasons.
The CW is bringing back MADtv. There are eight one-hour episodes in the works with the original cast members. The network aired a 20th anniversary special earlier this year. A premiere date has not yet been set.
Disney is already developing a sequel to The Jungle Book which does not hit theaters until Friday (April 15th.) The studio is already working out a deal to bring back director Jon Favreau and screenwriter Justin Marks. The first movie has already been performing well in some overseas markets and has been well-received by the critics.
