Christie Brinkley and John Mellencamp have split after a year-long romance. Billy Joel’s ex-wife and Mellencamp began dating last Summer after meeting at a party on Long Island NY. A rep for the pair has confirmed the split, saying busy schedules put a strain on the long-distance relationship.
The Jasmine Brand has reported that the photographer suing Justin Bieber and his bodyguard, accusing the duo of assaulting him, taking his camera’s memory card and damaging the camera, is demanding that the judge grant him permission to sue for punitive damages. Manuel Munoz went to court late last month and asked a judge to allow him to amend his lawsuit to seek punitive damages from Bieber and his bodyguard. Munoz told the judge that the 22-year-old needs to learn his lesson, so that he will no longer assault photographers.
Bruno Mars may be joining the Vegas residency roster. According to the UK’s The Sun, Mars could ink a deal that would bring in nearly a million dollars per show. A source told the site, “Caesars feels Bruno will bring something completely different — he can sing, dance and play. His music appeals to many ages and he can draw huge crowds.”
Despite rumours that Taylor Swift will be dropping a new album this fall, a record exec has dimmed the light for Taylor’s Swifties. A fan tweeted, Scott Borchetta, the president and CEO of Big Machine Records, asking about a potential record in October. Borchetta replied and simply said, “NOPE.”
It is uncertain who the opening act for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards will be, however, recent reports have surfaced saying that Lady Gaga may be opening the award show. According to a Gaga fan Twitter page, production notes from Gaga’s alleged performance have leaked, saying that she will kick off the show with a performance of a new record called, “Chaos Angel.” The page tweeted, “This leak looks real af and it says Gaga is opening the VMAs #SHOOK. The sheet says ‘Chaos Angel’ ouch my sentient BEING [upside down smiley face emoji].”
During Adele’s L.A. tour stop, the singer invited a gay engaged couple on stage. While chatting with the singer on stage, the couple revealed that they were engaged to be married and opened up about their wedding plans. Adele then said to them, “I’m gonna go.” The couple told her that their nuptial is set for September and she replied, “Oh I’m free. Can I come? I’d love to come.”
The mysterious castmate that was the subject of The Rock’s Facebook rant earlier this week is rumoured to be Vin Diesel and tensions are supposedly still running high. TMZ is reporting that it was an awkward day on set on Tuesday which led to Vin confronting his co-star in an attempt to resolve the drama. Sources tell the website that Vin went to Dwayne’s trailer to talk things out but were not able to reach any kind of resolution. People familiar with the situation claim it is just two egos clashing. Diesel apparently wrapped production on his scenes and left set in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
UK’s Reveal is reporting that Tom Hiddleston is getting a little tired of constantly being with Taylor Swift. One source said, “When Tom packed up and left Taylor’s L.A. home, he refused to allow her to accompany her. He says he needs a few weeks of ‘alone time,’ and assured Taylor that the space apart will strengthen their relationship.” The insider added, “When they got back to L.A., she wanted to be with him every second of the day. He barely had time to make calls, and had to beg her to let him go to the gym alone. He needs time to think things through. He just needs to breathe.” Tom also joined Instagram on Tuesday (August 9th) but has not followed Taylor.
Jennifer Lopez is working with HBO to produce and star in a movie about drug lord Griselda Blanco. She is nicknamed “The Cocaine Godmother” and is considered to be the most powerful female cartel member of all time. Jennifer said of the project, “I’ve been fascinated by the life of this corrupt and complicated woman for many years. The idea of teaming with HBO felt like the perfect fit for finally bringing Griselda’s story to life.”
Warner Bros. has announced the cast of the new female reboot of Ocean’s 11 being called Ocean’s Eight. Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and rapper/actress Awkwafina will all co-star. There is one spot left yet to be cast. Gary Ross will direct.
