Britney Spears has confirmed that she will be performing at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. The singer made the announcement via a video teaser, where she said, “The VMAs don’t just give you a stage. They give you a story, some way of taking a fraction of a second and making it live forever. Before you know it, it’s history.”
According to People, Britney will be performing her single, “Make Me” with G-Eazy.
Lady Gaga has confirmed that she will appear in, A Star Is Born, alongside Bradley Cooper. Gaga took to Twitter and said, “I’m elated to be directed by & starring w/ Bradley in this project. He’s a brilliant visionary artist. #AStarIsBorn #AStarIsBornCooperGaga.” According to E! News, this is Gaga’s first lead role, as well as, Cooper’s directorial debut. Gaga will also write and perform songs for the film.
Justin Bieber has permanently signed off of Instagram after having a verbal bout with ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez. Social media has since reacted to Bieber’s decision to deactivate his Instagram page and created the trending hashtag, “#JustinBieberDeactivatedParty.” One person said, “#JustinDeactivatedParty Is it too late now to say sorry?” Another wrote, “‘You could of just disabled comments!!’ #JustinDeactivatedParty” Someone even said, “He deactivated an account with 78 million followers for a girl that he knew for about 2 days #JustinDeactivatedParty.”
Katy Perry has opened up about her record, “Rise,” which was made for the Rio Games. During an interview with Mashable, Katy said, “‘Rise’ is a song that I have had swirling around in me. It’s a little bit like the story of the phoenix, about overcoming. Rising up again or finding that inner strength again and again, that’s a lifelong theme for me. Years ago I had tried to write it but it didn’t work, it didn’t come out right. And when the Olympics approached us it was already half written, and it was one of the first songs that I have written in this next batch, so I pulled it out.”

Ellen DeGeneres is denying that there was any racist intent behind her Usain Bolt meme that was tweeted out on Monday. The talk show host shared a photo of Usain running while she was riding on his back and wrote, “This is how I’m running errands from now on. #Rio2016.” People were quick to point out how racially insensitive the post was with one person writing, “So the first thing that pops in your head when looking at this pic is ‘oh let me jump onto his back like he’s a common mule?'” Other people called for her to fire whoever was responsible for creating the meme. Ellen responded on Tuesday writing, “I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country. It is the furthest thing from who I am.”

E! has officially announced the end of I Am Cait after two seasons. Caitlyn Jenner tweeted, “After 2 amazing seasons of I Am Cait, it’s time for the next adventure. According to Deadline, Bill Cosby’s lawyer Monique Pressley has resigned. Pressley announced in recent court filings that she is no longer representing the actor after just over a year. This comes just a few months after his main attorney Christopher Taybackleft.
