Madonna will be honoured with Billboard’s 2016 Woman of the Year Award at the 11th annual Billboard Women In Music event in December. According to BreatheHeavy, Janice Min, president and chief creative officer of The Hollywood Reporter-Billboard Media Group, said, “Madonna is one of a minuscule number of super-artists whose influence and career transcend music. With her creative vision, relentless innovation, and dedication to philanthropic causes, she is an inspiration to hundreds of millions of people around the world, all while shattering every career record out there. She is an important feminist on top of that, a one-of-a-kind artist who’s used her influence to change the conversation around women, sexuality and equal rights.”
It looks like Nick Young did not marry new girlfriend Paloma Ford this past weekend. The NBA star posted-then-deleted a pic of a pamphlet from a famous Las Vegas wedding chapel, along with the caption, “she said yes.” Blogs started speculating that the new couple had tied the knot. However, TMZ reported that they actually called up the wedding chapel to see if the couple was married and there was no record of Young or Ford getting married.
Zayn Malik dumped his ex-fiancé, Perrie Edwards, via text message last year. According to Gossip Cop, Perrie’s band, Little Mix, is releasing a book titled, Our World, where the singer speaks on her “four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message.” In the book, Perrie wrote, “I’m single at the moment and in a really good place. I feel like I’m stronger and happier than I’ve been in a long time. I’ve bought a house and it’s like I’ve found my independence after going through a really rough time.”
Reports surfaced over the weekend that Billy Bush will receive a $10 million settlement for exiting the Today Show, and even decided to give it all to womens’ charities. But his lawyer, Marshall Grossman, shot down those reports, saying that a dollar amount has not yet been agreed upon.
Shia LaBeouf and Mia Goth took part in a surprise, much buzzed-about commitment ceremony in Las Vegas last week and the duo was spotted stepping out for the first time with their dogs at a part in Los Angeles over the weekend. They appear to be living the typical just-married life, though local offiicals in Nevada did note last week that their ceremony was not legally binding, taking to Twitter to write: “Our records show no marriage license for Shia LaBeouf & Mia Goth. A commitment ceremony was performed #Vegas.”
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have welcomed their second child together into the world, naming her Daisy. She arrived Tuesday, October 11th and the proud mother shared a picture on Instagram on Saturday, captioning the shot: “There goes the neighborhood. Daisy Josephine Sudeikis. Born, like a boss, on #internationaldayofthegirl.” Daisy joins 2-year-old big brother Otis.
Ben Affleck’s new movie, The Accountant, opened to a bow office-topping $24.7 million this weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday. The crime thriller earned an “A” CinemaScore from those surveyed on opening night, although critics gave it a much lower 52% on Rotten Tomatoes. The comedy concert film Kevin Hart: What Now? debuted in second place with $11.98 million, with just a slight edge over last week’s champ The Girl on the Train, which netted $11.975 million.
Law & Order: SVU is putting its Donald Trump-inspired episode on ice until after the presidential election on Nov. 8th, NBC execs told The Hollywood Reporter. News broke last week that the NBC drama was going to do a Trump-inspired episode starring Gary Coleas a politician whose campaign goes haywire after accusations of sexual impropriety emerge. The episode was scheduled to air Wednesday, Oct. 26th.
