Abi Tripp was named the Kiwanis Club’s amateur athlete of the year at the 36th awards banquet Thursday night.
Abi Tripp is 16 and swims for the Kingston Y Penguins Aquatic Club, Abi also competed at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro last September.
Abi suffers from cerebral palsy and started swimming at the age of 7. AT the Rio games she competed in seven events where she landed two fifth place finishes in relays and a sixth place finish in the 400 meter freestyle.
