Ed Sheeran will soon be gearing up for a massive world tour that’ll keep him on the road until 2019, and he’s putting a twist on who opens his shows. Sheeran appears on the cover of Rolling Stone, where he discussed the new boy band he was interested in forming. “I’m gonna put three or four boys together and do all the songs, take them on the stadium tour with me,” he said. As for what this mysterious boy band will sing, Sheeran has been writing lots of music for them. He described his latest batch of songs as “Superpop, but obviously credible.”

Ed Sheeran’s new album, Divide, which came out last Friday, has garnered well over 1 billion views on YouTube as of Sunday, and is breaking records at Spotify. Starting with the release of lyric videos for “Castle On A Hill” and “Shape Of You” at the top of the year, through to the most recent upload of 14 new videos on Friday to celebrate the album’s release, fans are flocking to hear Ed’s new music on YouTube. Over the last two months alone, Sheeran’s YouTube channel has gained over three million subscribers, the most of any channel this year. Overall, Sheeran occupied six spots out of YouTube’s Top 100 Videos for the week ending February 23rd.
Florida Georgia Line and the Backstreet Boys will join forces in concert. Yesterday morning, Florida Georgia Line revealed that the boy band will be special guests on three of their stadium dates this summer. Backstreet Boys will perform as part of “The Smooth Tour 2017” for three shows this summer, including Boston’s Fenway Park on July 7th, Minneapolis’ Target Field on July 29th and Chicago’s Wrigley Field on August 12th. The two acts will also team up for a live performance at the 52nd annual Academy of Country Music Awards taking place in Las Vegas on April 2nd.
New Kids on the Block are back in a big way this year. Besides announcing a major tour with Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men, the group will be releasing their new EP Thankful. The five-track EP will be available on May 12th, the same night the guys kick off their tour in Columbus, Ohio. Fans who pre-order the album will receive an instant download of “One More Night.” They boys will be in Toronto on June 20th and 21st at the ACC.
