The Recording Industry Association of America has announced that Katy Perry’s iconic song “Roar” has earned a Diamond certification surpassing the 10-million threshold counting song sales and streams in the US. With the new certification of “Roar,” which follows previously Diamond-certified songs “Dark Horse” and “Firework”. She also becomes the first artist in RIAA Gold & Platinum Program history to earn three RIAA Diamond Song Awards.

During the course of Katy’s career, 21 songs have achieved RIAA certification, and three studio albums have also been certified Platinum or multi-Platinum.
Perry’s feat has her floating above Lady Gaga and Eminem, the only other artists to lodge two Diamond Song awards.
P.S Perry also became the first Twitter user to reach 100 million followers and broke her own record for most YouTube views in 24 hours following the release of her music video for “Bon Appetit.”
