According to a new report Britney Spears’ team has started discussions for her to perform at the 2018 Super Bowl halftime show. “Britney has made it clear to her team that it is a dream to perform at a Super Bowl,” an insider told the New York Daily News. “She has the hits package and appeal to be a headliner.” Spears has performed during the Super Bowl halftime show before as part of an act with N’Sync, Aerosmith, Nelly and Mary J. Blige in January 2001. Last summer, she said “Yes, I would probably do that,” when asked if she would return to perform at the football game. The Super Bowl will air on February 4th from Minnesota.
“Gangnam Style” is king of YouTube no more. Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth have broken the record for the most-viewed video of all time on YouTube for “See You Again.” At 5:30 p.m. on Monday, it hit 2,894,026,649 views, surpassing the 2,894,022,885 views for the Psy song “Gangnam Style,” according to Khalifa publicist Rogers and Cowan. “Gangnam Style” held the record for five years, having passed Justin Bieber’s “Baby” in November of 2012. “See You Again,” a tribute to actor Paul Walker from the 2015 movie Furious 7, has averaged more than 3 million views per day in 2017. As of July 12th, “See You Again” was viewed over 2.9 billion times.
Michael Jackson’s Halloween, a new, hour-long animated special, featuring the King of Pop’s music as its soundtrack, will premiere this fall on CBS. The special will also feature voice actors Christine Baranski, Kiersey Clemons, Alan Cumming, George Eads, Brad Garrett, Lucy Liu, Jim Parsons and Lucas Till. The storyline follows Vincent, Victoria and Ichabod the dog, as they are sent on a surprise, magical adventure at the This Place Hotel on 777 Jackson Street.
Coldplay is known for bringing surprise guests up onstage during their shows, but the 83,000-strong crowd at their latest concert in Dublin got an extra special guest performance. Lead singer Chris Martin noticed a guy in the audience crowd-surfing in his wheelchair and told him to come up to the stage, where he and the fan, Rob, promptly improvised a song about Dublin on the spot. Rob even whipped out his harmonica to accompany Martin while he sang lyrics like, “Well here we are in Dublin, and what an awesome crowd, I’ve been all over the world, and I’ve never seen anybody so loud.”
Jennifer Garner confronted Ben Affleck’s girlfriend Lindsay Shookus after finding out about their affair in 2015, a source tells People. DAMN! Garner was on a work trip to New York City when the alleged conversation occurred. “Lindsay refused to back down or quit the affair,” says a source. Multiple reports have emerged that Affleck and Shookus initiated an affair in 2013, two years before Affleck and Garner separated and while Shookus was still married to fellow Saturday Night Live producer Kevin Miller.
The Merc is bowing down in defeat to Princess Diana of Themyscira. After Wonder Woman surpassed Deadpool at the domestic box office, Ryan Reynolds gave Gal Gadot, the star of Wonder Woman, a backhanded compliment, writing: “The Merc may be filthier, but her B.O. is stronger. Congrats #WonderWoman.” Wonder Woman has grossed more than $368 in North America, besting Deadpool’s $363 million.
According to Screen Rant, Wonder Woman 2 will be set in the 1980s with Gal Gadot and Chris Pine returning. Patty Jenkins has not yet officially signed on to direct, but Screen Rant reports that the story treatment is already beginning to take shape and that she is helping to guide it. Wonder Woman 2 will be historical adventure, with Diana fighting foes in the Soviet Union as the Cold War comes to a close.
