AL – To start this off I should say that my first child is about a month away. So everything I do or talk about is baby related in some way or another these days. During this transition into parenthood I have also learned that everyone has their own opinion when it comes to parenthood/kids and no matter how strange I may find it, I should remain neutral at all times.
That being said, there is one thing I have noticed that some parents do that just confuses me. Why is it that some parents choose to measure the age of their children in months even after the child has celebrated it’s first birthday?
In my head the child goes from 1 month to almost a year, a year old, two years old, and on and on. There are some parents that keep going with the months though. I was talking to a person the other day and she said her child was 27 months…as in just over two years…
I don’t get it, but if you do count the months all the power to you. Just know that I’m now counting my age by the months (396 months old) and I expect monthly presents instead on annual ones.
