IT’S A LONG WEEKEND, also means some things will be closed or on a different schedule,
Here is what you need to know:
Garbage, green bin, and recycling: No collection on Monday and collection moves to the day after your normal pick-up day for the rest of the week. The Kingston Area Recycling Centre is also closed Monday.
Kingston Transit: All buses will run on a Sunday schedule on Monday – except for Route 18 which runs on a weekday schedule.
Kingston Access Services: Operates with limited service Monday. Call 613-542-2512.
Administrative offices: All administrative offices, including housing and social services and provincial offences, are closed Monday.
Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro: Closed Monday. In the event of a utility emergency, such as a gas smell, power outage or a water main break, call the Utilities Kingston 24-hour number at 613-546-1181. Hydro One electricity customers in the west and east ends can call 1-800-434-1235. Union Gas customers can call 1-877-969-0999.
INVISTA Centre/ Fitness & Wellness Centre, Artillery Park Aquatic Centre, arenas and CaraCo Home Field are closed Monday NOTE: Artillery Park Aquatic Centre is closed for seasonal maintenance from Sept. 5 to 18
All branches of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library are closed Monday.
Banks and Post offices
Most grocery store and retail outlets including Costco
Confederation Basin and Portsmouth Olympic Harbour marinas: The Confederation Basin Marina office is open. The fueling stations are open at Portsmouth Olympic Harbour, but the office will be closed Monday.
What is Open on Monday:
Cataraqui Town Centre is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tomlinson Aqua Park and splash pads
Agnes Etherington Art Centre is open 1 to 5 p.m.
Walmart and both Loblaws locations are open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Farm Boy is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Home Depot is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Collins Bay Flea Market is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
