So let me tell you a little story. Pull up a chair and grab some popcorn for this one.
I’m not one to rant on Facebook, etc.. However, I think I need to tell this story.
I walked into the grocery store last night, just doing my thing, minding my own business. A young man was pushing a buggy behind me, while texting on his phone. Let’s just say, this young man walked into me with his buggy. When it happened, it wasn’t a light little tap. The leg he hit was recently injured. (I tore my calf muscle 6 weeks ago) Instead of saying something, I did turn around to see what was going on. I refrained from saying anything (which is a BIG deal for me), I just politely smiled. Not that he could see me smile, he was still looking down at his phone. What the heck!?
Let’s fast forward to a few moments later. The same young man managed to hit me with his buggy….AGAIN!!
Now this will come as a shock, but he was still texting and pushing his buggy. This time he looked up at me, and gave me a dirty look. It was like I was an inconvenience to him. Maybe I shouldn’t have said what I did next, but I wasn’t looking to scold him. I jokingly said, “I feel like we’re playing a game of bumper carts”. (Or something like that)
He proceeded to tell me that I was rude. Yes, Mr. Bumper Cart Man, was now calling me rude. He hit me twice with his buggy, and never apologized once. Yet, I am the rude one!? I was really upset when it happened, now I look back at it and laugh. HOWEVER, he could have hurt me OR someone else.
What would you have done?
